The Greater Washington Partnership, a nonprofit alliance of influential cross-sector DC-area employers, sought to bridge the gap between DC's leading universities and top employers. Their vision: a robust talent pipeline fortified by a high-impact student experience program.
We were hired to design a student experience program that could scale to serve 650+ students annually within 3 years with limited management overhead – and on a tight timeline. We got straight to work, interviewing staff and partners, aggregating commitments, and establishing a framework for implementation. We presented various models to leadership, eventually landing on a model that was built on current university infrastructure and student ambassadors as opposed to building out an all-new approach.
Capitalizing on our deep understanding of the region's recruitment landscape, we emphasized a strategy focused on connecting vetted, credentialed students to hard-to-fill technical roles. Within four weeks, we delivered a 100-page operational plan covering program execution tactics, templates, surveys, metrics, and strategies for go-forward growth.
Our blueprint empowered the Partnership to swiftly launch and iterate programs, fostering a space to test, learn, and gauge success, while reinforcing their position as a key player in the region's talent ecosystem.
